Interesting critique of hip-hop by African American cultural critic and commentator

Reflections:

This is probably more a critique of something akin to gangster rap….although the label hip-hop covers pretty much the whole scope….its used so commercially and its a culturally entrenched term.

The problem is that it probably doesn’t link to any performative projects that use hip-hop.
