Thinking about and analizing the qualities of good evidence for debates

Here are some important criteria for quality evidence & arguments:
• Impact
• Quantity & quality of Why (aka reasons & data)
• Defensible argument (why & causality & credentials/publication & date) Strengths? Weaknesses? (alternative causalities in the evidence or suggest counter-arguments)
• Flexibility
• Effeciency (Time)
• Other: pre-empts & shifts based on distinctions or adding depth or strength to an existing argument

Here are some tools which can help you think strategically about evidence & arguments:
• What-if? (this can be matrix style….its scenario planning….mental experimentation). What are the known/predictable responses?
• What about other types of responses?
• SWOT (from both sides)
• How can it be better?
• What isn’t it saying (ie the unknown)?
