How to behave before a debate & after a debate.

How to behave before a debate:

1. Project confidence and winning.
2. Be energized but calm. If you lose your calm, give yourself 30 seconds of deep breathing to regain it before the debate.
3. Be friendly.
4. Be chatty.
5. Get out files for the debate.
6. If you are negative (underline down files)–and read files to familiarize yourself–you can be writing extension blocks and pre-flowing.

1. Project confidence and winning.
2. Try to respect the judge’s need to concentrate (ie don’t be too loud)
3. Stay in the room.
4. Organize (this only takes about 3 to 5 minutes). If you’re organization falters….its a massive headache. (it actually takes longer)
5. Get any cites you need. Reflect on the debate–what you learned. Write it down on a sheet & file it.
