Active Reading as a skill in Debate

Read, Record, Recite (3 R’s)

Survey, Questions, Read, Recall, Review (SQRRR)

Technically I think these are study methods.

Also, they don’t provide a time to reflect or see where they fit or where other research may be possible.

Here is a pretty decent summary of the skill in the context of reading primary sources (link)

Here is another version of active reading from the University of Guelph in Canada. (link)

This is an odd recommendation, but you can judge it on its own merits here.

I imagine other resources on critical thinking would also be helpful. I wonder if there are any in the context of graduate work or academic research or public policy research which would be even more on target.
